President's Report
December 9, 2021
Welcome sisters and special guest Hannah.
I open this meeting with a quote from Dr. Marilyn Gonyo:
“The Mission of Delta Kappa Gamma is to “promote professional and personal growth of women educators and excellence in education.” The women of Lambda Chapter truly embody this mission, and have done so with a true and “genuine spiritual fellowship” showing support and encouragement for each other and recognizing every accomplishment of each member.”
With that thought in mind let us begin our business meeting and end in fellowship with our sisters.

It is time for important chapter business, to vote on the Rose Award for 2022.
The Rose Award is to be given to a Professionally Active Chapter member for her outstanding service to education, community, or Chapter. Traditionally no sister receives the Rose Award twice, hence the list provided of previous winners.
On to the highlight of our meeting tonight, Dr. Marilyn Gonyo will you please introduce our first Lambda Chapter Early Educator Award recipient, Hannah Moran.

- The state meeting will be held on January 8 on Zoom. The meeting is for the state officers & executive board, and state committee chairpersons.
- Good news from our state organization! The State Convention will be held in person on April 1-3, 2022 at the Double Tree in Somerset.

Lambda Chapter News
- First of all, thanks to all who donated winter coats for the clients of the James O. Bryant Food Pantry. Your generous spirit of giving to others is always overwhelming.
- There are Lambda membership brochures provided for you on each table. Take one home. Spread the good word about our chapter and give the brochures to worthy prospective members.
- The Mulberry House Tea Social held on October 16 was a great success with flavorful teas, a delicious variety of food, and most of all, good company. Thanks to all who were able to attend.
- The Lambda Craft Activity evening was held on November 16 in the Bridgewater Library. Each participant created two jars of “glorious and relaxing” bath powders and salts. The class was instructed by our sister Darlene Tammara. To me, it was restorative of our sisterhood, being together in person, enjoying each other’s company. Thank you, Darlene.
- There are many more Lambda events planned for the new year. All are listed on our website, dkgnjlambda.com
- A word of gratitude to Mary Lou Le Compte for organizing our dessert table for tonight and for all who contributed. Sincere appreciation to Karen Rowland who reserved this hall for us to gather tonight, including the set up.
